Peer Review Process

Revista de Estudios Utópicos REUTOPIA will acknowledge receipt of the originals it receives.

All texts received will be subject to an initial internal evaluation by the Editorial Board, in accordance with the usual standards of content and style for scientific journals. During this initial phase, clarity of exposition, argumentative coherence and conformity with the journal's editorial standards will be verified. The Editorial Board may reject an article at this stage, without the need for external evaluation, when it considers that it does not meet the minimum standards of quality and scientific rigour, does not adapt to the formal and content standards, or does not fit the thematic profile of the journal.

Articles destined for the Articles and Special Issues sections will be subject to a second phase of external double-blind peer review (anonymous for both authors and reviewers). Articles that pass the initial review will be sent to a minimum of two experts in the field to issue evaluation reports assessing originality, quality, methodological rigour, scientific relevance and contribution to knowledge in the area. Their comments and recommendations will be the basis for the Editorial Board's decision to approve the article, reject it or ask for changes to be made as requested by the reviewers, and will communicate this decision to the author(s).

In the event that the reports propose changes to be made in order to approve the article, the article will be returned to the author(s) with a deadline for them to provide a further revised version of their article, together with an explanation of their responses to the various recommendations for changes in the evaluation reports. On that basis, the Editorial Board will make a final decision, which will be communicated to the author(s).

This meticulous process ensures that only articles of high quality and relevance are considered for publication in the Revista de Estudios Utópicos, thus promoting the advancement and critical discussion of this field of research.

The final version of all texts will be subject to a style review by the Editorial Team.
